Close to 100 people gathered at CERN in Geneva on March 25-26 for Zeek Workshop Europe 2026. The two-day event brought together practitioners from across Europe for knowledge sharing, training, and networking.
The workshop kicked off with presentations covering Zeek development, deployment strategies, and real-world use cases. Full presentation slides are available here. The CERN datacenter tour was a highlight—attendees got rare behind-the-scenes access to the facility’s infrastructure.
Day two featured hands-on training sessions led by Aashish Sharma (Incident Response with Zeek) and Benjamin Bannier (Protocol Analyzers with Spicy). Training spots were limited and filled up quickly, with both sessions receiving positive feedback from participants.
Beyond the formal sessions, the workshop provided space for the kind of conversations that don’t happen over Slack or email. Practitioners shared deployment challenges, troubleshooting strategies, and the small customizations that make Zeek work in their specific environments. People said it was fun, useful, and a good opportunity to connect with others in the community.
Thanks to everyone who attended, presented, and organized. Special thanks to Liviu Valsan and the CERN team for hosting, and to Corelight for sponsoring the reception.
The next Zeek Workshop will be in Berkeley, California in September 2026. Stay tuned for more details.
